Thanksgiving Dinner 2017

Almost every year for Thanksgiving Vu’s family has a big huge Vietnamese potluck with all of the extended family, so we usually have a smaller dinner with just his immediate family on Wednesday or sometime before Thursday with all the traditional food.  I really love the table decorations this year, with the orange, green and bronze.  Such a beautiful color combination!  I found these adorable bronze napkin rings for $3 for a set of 4 at target and used that as my starting point for everything else.  They are metal which makes them even better, and they are really great quality too.  My love for Eucalyptus is still going strong and a friend told me that Trader Joe’s sells them.  My grocery store floral section hardly ever has them, and then not very many at that, so I was sooo excited when I saw what they had at Trader Joe’s.  They even had seeded, which I have never seen at my grocery store.  Painting the pumpkins worked really well, because then I could cover up all of the bad spots that have been creeping in since I have had these pumpkins since the beginning of October.  Then I just cut out some leaves with my Silhouette with the words “Grateful, Thankful, Blessed” printed on them to put around the pumpkins and flowers.  I also used my Silhouette to cut out the “Thankful For” on the name tags.  I saw these turkey place card holders at Crate and Barrel last year, and then by the time I decided I wanted to buy them, they were sold out.  So I quickly got them this year, and they were even on sale the day I got them.  It was a great day with great food and I am so grateful for all of the blessings I have and for this wonderful holiday to celebrate it!
