Hexagons & Peacock Feathers

I know August is almost over, so this post is a little bit later than I had hoped.  Every year it seems like I blink and August passes.  It just goes by so fast.  I kept planning to redo the turquoise table runner this year and it just never happened.  I cannot figure out what I want to do with it, so I finally decided to just leave it off.  And turns out I really like the gold beaded runner on it’s own.  The dining room table centerpiece is by far the hardest thing for me to decorate.  Half of the time I never really love it and I end up changing it out a number of times before settling on something that is the best option, but I still don’t love.  I am always keeping my eyes open for some inspiration.  I do love the white tray I used for AprilJune and July but I have used it almost every month since I made it last October, so I am trying to branch out.

I added a couple of new things this month, the hexagon pillow and the hexagon tray, and I love them both.  Although Rachel says the tray reminds her of Setters of Catan, which my family loves, but me not so much.  It was definitely challenging trying to get all of the edges to match up.  90 degree angles are so much easier.  But it turned out great,  I think!  And now I cannot wait for summer to end and Fall to begin.  It is no secret that I love Autumn SOOOOO much and I am excited for it every year anyway, but this summer has been so dry.  So dry!  I heard we had a record rain fall this winter/spring and then a record number of days without rain this summer.  They were both too much for me this year, so am especially excited for Fall to come!  I hope it is a good one!
